SAM PAGE, 34, is a freelance journalist, amateur rodeo cowboy and director of Sam Page Fitness, operating three private training studios in Southern California. His writing is syndicated worldwide, appearing on such websites as USA Today, Livestrong.com, FOX News, The Chicago Sun-Times and REUTERS. A former magazine publisher, Sam also appears regularly in HIV Plus, Passport, Horizon, and he’s a contributor to the Being Alive Newsletter. His on-camera interview with Emmy Award® winning actress Kathy Griffin appears in season #4 of My Life on the D List in the episode, “Busted in Bora Bora” on Bravo! He is represented by Todd Justice at Venture IAB.

Young Entrepreneur

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Sam won the Governor of Utah’s “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award in 1991. In 1992, he was nominated by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and later appointed to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, he chose to instead attend Gonzaga University, in Spokane, Wash., where he rowed on the men’s crew team and participated as a cadet in the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).

HERO Magazine

In 1997, he co-founded and was publisher of HERO, a national magazine for the gay community which ran from 1997-2001 and won distinction as “One of the Top 10 Magazines in the U.S.” His role as publisher garnered attention from the national media and even the White House. HERO Magazine rode the wave of the “mainstreaming” of gay culture, publishing the first automotive column in a national gay magazine, the first gay wedding guide, etc. HERO turned away from the “sex sells” attitude of other gay publications, and did not accept adult or tobacco advertising. The magazine was also more inclusive of couples and men over 40 than other magazines at the time. The attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 spooked venture capitalists worldwide, and the magazine was one of the casualties. The publication ceased operations in early 2002.

Modeling & Acting

After a year of modeling and acting under the stage name Sam Tyson, including centerfolds in Playgirl and Attitude (magazine) (UK), appearing on VH-1’s “Totally Gay” and playing the lead in the sold-out run of the play, “My Boyfriend, the Stripper” in Austin, Texas, he decided to dedicate his life to health and fitness.

Fitness

Working off-camera, Page began training top producers of ABC’s Emmy Award winning reality show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2004, and co-hosted a fitness program on SIRIUS Satellite Radio.

His training motto, “fitness through inspiration, not intimidation,” reflects his belief that total health is available to everyone, regardless of his or her present condition. Always focused on the science behind fitness, Sam blends traditional exercise with a unique motivational and inspirational approach suited for each client. He’s certified by the International Sports Sciences Association.

Sam married Bronson Page on April 21, 2007. Their marriage was legalized by the State of California on June 17, 2008.

Hey bud,

it’s Kenny. How have you been? I don’t have a current number for you. I tried to call but it was some girl’s message.

I’m not going to get into politics with friends, it’s to messy. Everyone has their own opinions and I respect that. I’m not saying what I said was wrong, I do think Palin is a good person she has helped Alaska. I’m not a Republican “even though I might sound like one”.

I just have to think about things that my family is going through right now. Palin has helped my parents fight the corruption with the National Park Service. The Park Service are trying to take our land that we have owned since 1969. We own a lodge in Wrangell St. Elias National Park. We are one of the only few land owners in the largest national park in the United States. The head of the Park has shut down trials that have been used for over thirty years to access our camp on Copper Lake. Basically shutting down my families business, saying that the trails are not designated trails. Those trails have been there before it was a park. My Grandfather used those trails (along with the Park Service) to access our camp, and for my grandfather to make a living my trapping in the winter.

Things are different in CA and I understand that. I’m so glad you got married. You are an amazing person and I love you so much. I’m so glad I got to know you and I still talk about you to all my friends here. You are the best person I’ve ever meet in CA. I just get fired up because I’m going to lose one of the best places I know. I grew up there, went fishing, hunting, and have some of the best memories from. My Grandparents built it with their bare hands, and now we may lose it. You can see the website at

talk to you later, miss you

Kenny

P.S. Bronson, you have actually given me more facts about Obama then watching the news. I do watch all the different news channels here and do try and keep current. I hope to meet you sometime you sound like a great guy, and I’m glad you meet Sam. He is an amazing well rounded guy, and you better treat him right:-) Shoot me an email sometime to catch up. My number is still the same. I’m actually planning a trip soon. Would love to see you guys and catch up.

Miss you,

Kenny
